Huh?

Our local newspaper has some blogs now. I’ve read this sentence now like four times:

Today I spent an extra free thought time to consider knowing as I prepared to lead a discussion on ideas tonight.

They speak English in what?

Have you never considered knowing during your extra free thought times?

  2. Rustmeister Says:

And I thought I had problems putting my thoughts into print.

  3. Molon Labe Says:

Completed basic comprehension reading skills never high school in apparently.

Love gotta that system educational America in.

  4. Les Jones Says:

It’s like someone ran Elisa through Microsoft Word’s grammar checker.

Must be something taught in journalism classes.

  6. Brehd Patchley Says:

You only had trouble with that one sentence? The entire article looks like something Steve Martin would have slipped into Cruel Shoes just to prove he could.

Today, I spent an extra “free-thought” time to consider “knowing”, as I prepared to lead a discussion on “ideas” tonight.

Okay, now it SORTA makes sense…in an “I’m trying to be witty” kind of way…

  8. Turk Turon Says:

Say “what” again, I dare ya!

  9. Hartley Says:

    Hmm,

Well, it makes more sense ( a little, anyway) if you look up “Epistemology”, which gets used not less than three times in the next sentence.

  10. Roberta X Says:

Y’know, Hartley, that’s exactly why the nuns wouldn’t let us wear patent leather shoes to school.

  11. Justthisguy Says:

Roberta, you have a dirty mind, though I’ll stipulate it’s a sharp one, you knowing the delta between a drill bit and a twist drill.

  12. Justthisguy Says:

Oh, and dang, Unc! I don’t think I’ve ever left a comment here when I haven’t had too much ethanol in me to drive a car without being arrested. (If caught)

I think I’ve made more sense, or at least wrote more internally consistent sentences than that fella did, every time.

    Hic.
