Take that, Bloomberg

Heh:

Lauer Custom Weaponry, whose products were banned in the city in 2006 because they make dangerous guns look like innocent toys, is taunting the anti-gun mayor with a line of paints named “The Bloomberg Collection.”

The company – which named its purple hue after Barney, the dinosaur beloved by toddlers – is peddling a rainbow of candy-colored paints for each of the five boroughs.

There’s red for Manhattan, rose for the Bronx, blue for Brooklyn, green for Queens and orange for Staten Island.

And as an extra slap – a stencil of the mayor’s face for the barrel of the gun.

And, no, there’s no media bias against guns in this article! Like this:

A Wisconsin company that disguises deadly firearms with bright paints and camouflage has a new target: Mayor Bloomberg.

Disguises? Are you loopy?

BTW, here’s their webpage. And here’s the Bloomberg Collection.

Way to go Lauer! I have one of their lowers, they make me a proud consumer.

  2. Lyle Says:

    That is very cool!

  3. Michael Hawkins Says:

    A stencil for the barrel?

  4. Hemlock Says:

Bloomberg collection?? Why would anyone try to disguise their gun as a giant white ass? 🙂

Maybe after Heller is decided in favor of pro-gunners Lauer will add Fecal Splatter to the bloomie collection.

Seriously, do the anti’s have nothing better to do than moan about a paint job on a rifle?

  5. Tom Stone Says:

Our local radio stations quoted the Bloomberg article as News here in Northern California…

  6. Murdoc Says:

Heh. I talked to Lauer at the SHOT Show, and he’s a funny guy and having fun with all this. He told me that they’ve been stamping boxes shipped to NYC “Mayor Approved.”

    Son of a Gun –
Disgrace of deadly new toy-like guns mocking mayor

I’ve got the Daily News for Friday in front of me and that’s the front page…Page 2 is a half page color ad for DuraCoat with the Lauer Bloomberg collection figured prominently, and page 3 is the article and a picture of a pissed Bloomberg with a smaller article “Murders up 26% across city this year”.

The big article points out that Bloomberg has also been the target of the NRA and raffles of “Bloomberg Rifles” for pro-gun charity.

The newpaper prints the un appologetic statements of Lauer and others…

Basically the article is about these gun groups giving the mayor a raspberry.

    Good Stuff…

  8. straightarrrow Says:

Bloomberg should thank his lucky stars he is just pissed off, he deserves to pissed on, providing, of course, that he isn’t on fire at the time.

  9. Steve Says:

This artical ignores the question of whether or not Duracoat is a viable firearms finish vs GunKote, parkerizing, and Blueing.

An analysis might have made it interesting. I’d have even accepted the lable “Assault finishes” or “saturday night paint jobs”.

  10. Firehand Says:

I saw a CBS(I think) story on this Friday evening: nasty little hit piece.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
