Do you use MS Internet Explorer?

If so, does the sidebar on the right stop where my ads should be? If so, that explains why I’ve not sold any blogads in a couple of weeks.

And the dip in traffic, since the sitemeter isn’t loading.

Any ideas how to fix that? I hate technical issues.

    Nope, firefox here.

All your ads are loading from well-known advertising servers, so they are probably blocked automatically by most people’s browsers.

I once surfed with an old browser and was amazed how cluttered the internet is with advertising. Even hotmail looks like a funhouse.

According to adblock, I’m not loading 1 script from googlesyndication, 2 scripts from blogads and 1 script from sitemeter.

It’s not just IE – in Safari, your side bar doesn’t start till after all the posts on the page.

I just tried it with both MS IE 6.0 and 7.0. I see a sidebar with spots for BlogAds in three different locations (all empty) and Google Ads.

Sitemeter is at the very bottom of the page and appears to be working–I can see my hits from both IE 6.0 and 7.0.

If this helps you diagnose the problem:

I’m running ME on dialup – Netscape – and I get the full sidebar, complete with links and ads, the first time each day I load your homepage (I usually get to “Say Uncle” via the links to your site on either Tamara’s or Kim du Toit’s blogs). However, if I click on the link to any of the blogs on your sidebar, whenever I hit the “Back” button to return to “Say Uncle” I find that your sidebar is gone. And the sidebar remains missing whenever I return to your blog, unless I shut down ME and dump all temporary Internet files. Since I’m a complete noob when it comes to personal computing, I haven’t a clue what may be causing that…

Also, your sidebar was working fine – at least for me – up until this past Sunday.

On the bright side: I read your blog every day, and it’s not for the ads…

Your sidebar looks OK from IE ver. 6.0.2800.1600, ads are all there, no sitemeter visable.

Comcast has been having DHCP server problems for days. Google was hosed early this afternoon and blogspot is normally buggy.

Sidebar now OK, but has, in the past, overlapped the text. Right now there’s a white space on the extreeme right, a side bar to the right of center, and text on the 65% on the left.

Returning to your blog to continue reading after posting the above comment, your sidebar is now gone. Didn’t check for a sitemeter before, but if it’s supposed to be at the bottom of the page, it isn’t.
    Good luck.

IE7 RC1, no problems. No problems with IE6 before. No problems with Firefox. Maybe some people just don’t hold their mouth right?

  12. Jim Smith Says:

    I hate computers

I utter that phrase at least once a day.

  13. Joe Huffman Says:

Computers! They should be outlawed. 🙂

Some people bring their computer to Boomershoot to vent, so to speak, on them. Check out this video for details.

  14. Rustmeister Says:

    No ads here.

    IE 6 SP2

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
