If you really want to piss people off, pose another one like that, but this time put a firearm somewhere in frame. 🙂

    You got a dog?

  7. Ravenwood Says:

Large dogs are always better with babies and kids than smaller dogs. There is no way in hell that kid could hurt a large dog. They don’t feel threatened. But a small yorkie or something has a very realistic chance of being injured by a clumsy baby or toddler. Thus they are more likely to nip at a child.

If your dog is female, then of course, the mothering instincts kick in as well.

  8. Xrlq Says:

Large dogs are good, but pit bulls and related breeds are better, as they’ve bred for a high tolerance for pain. That trait makes dog fights between pit bulls especially bloody, but it also makes domestic pit bulls put up with a lot of ear- and tail-pulling that may provoke other breeds to snap.

Very cute. My daughter is 12 weeks old, and we have a couple 2 year old German Shepherd/Chow mix dogs, litter mate sisters. One more or less avoids the baby, the other one would nurse the baby if she was capable (not that would let her anyway).

It will be intersting to see how they react as the baby becomes a toddler. We’re slightly worried that one that avoids the baby might get jealous, but we worried about that before we brought the baby home too, and it proved unfounded. Still we do keep a close eye. Personally though I’m more worried about my birds (a cockatiel, Indian ringneck and a quaker) trying to bite the baby than the dogs.

  11. SayUncle Says:

I think if your dogs can tolerate the birds, they’ll be OK with the baby 🙂

that looks like an american bulldog!

we have an american bulldog too, and she is the smartest, most loyal dog I’ve ever had. she loves all people, especially babies.

watch out though if you’re a squirrel, cat, or small barking dog

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
