Party of the Rich Update
Chris, his attempt at belittling me aside, has more on campaign contributions. A very good read I have to say. It does prove my point that the highest dollar value contributions go to the Democrats:
What those numbers tell us is the political skew of a very slim top percentile — the very rich.
That would fit my (and most folks’) definition of the richest.
The exchange is confusing to follow, so I suggest you read this in this order:
For Tom
Fat Cats
Party of the Rich
Lies, Damn Lies and . . .
And this post you’re currently looking at.
And I wasn’t rebutting Chris’ post, I just think we disagree on what constitutes rich and richest.
By the way, he must be right because his chart is prettier than mine. Nice job.

Belittling?

It may not have been your intent, but i interpreted lies, damn lies and … and Statistics are fun (and hard). Say Uncle’s rebuttal . . . to be a bit snide.
I could have been mistaken, of course.

Ah, no, sorry, I meant no offense.. I just figured it was an appropriate saying for either of us. I found it amusing that we both can look at a vast body of statistics such as opensecrets.org and see different things.

I think we see the same things, we just interpret the top of the chain (high dollar donors) differently.

Indeed.. In any event, I wasn’t trying to be rude.
When I said statistics are fun (and hard), I meant it quite genuinely.. for me, at least. 🙂
