I’d have to shoot guns like a sumbitch for reloading to make sense for me. It would take a hella handloads to amortize the initial equipment costs.
I realize that economy is only one reason to handload. It makes more sense for hunters and competitive shooters. For instance, in competition sports there may be a minimum muzzle velocity, and ideally you’ll want a load that meets that spec, but doesn’t exceed it by much, in order to reduce recoil.
Actually you can get the equipment to start for less than $200. Much less if you get used equipment &/or make some of the things you need. & it pays for itself quicker than you’d think. Plus, you do tend to shoot like a sumbitch, cause you can. 🙂

You’re probably right, but I think I’ll stick to reloading beer bottles.
