It’s not a bug, it’s a feature

CNN notes that Fred Thompson doesn’t have a hunting license. The implication being, of course, that his pro-gun street cred isn’t valid. Well, I don’t have a hunting license either. And I’m pretty sure my pro-gun street cred is still good.

Bruce notes: Not only that, but how the hell can Thompson even call himself a supporter of the 1st Amendment? Last I heard, he doesn’t even own a printing press.

Meh. Thompson’s campaign is dead anyway.

I think I prefer it that way. There’s something about the typical politico canned hunts that really makes you expect most of the animal to get wasted.

As the saying goes, though, the Second Amendment is not about hunting.

I don’t have a hunting license either. You don’t need one to protect your home.

I don’t have one right now and I’m a hunter. 75% of the year you don’t need one!

In my experience, most hunting licenses are purchased on a yearly basis, preparatory to hunting season.

For example, I am in possession of five hunting licenses and one fishing license. Two of the hunting licenses are no longer useable (for firearm hunting during the 2004 and 2005 deer seasons, respectively) and three are still usable (combination bow/firearm licenses for the 2007 deer season).

However, I am also in possession of a Hunter’s Safety-Class Certification from my State government. I could not purchase any hunting license of any kind without that certification in my home State.

You know, if the news people knew how to ask the right question, they might be able to give useful information.

And if most of them were smarter, they’d be in a different line of work.

or at least be competent in theirs.

No hunting license either but I do have a fishing license.

Is the right to bear a spinning rod protected under the Constitution?

  9. Dustin Says:

Luckily criminals who break into your home are always in season, & no hunting license is required.

Fred should pull out one of those cliche “Terrorist Hunting Permits”. Reporter would shit a brick.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
