Manufacturing criminals

fbiterrorplot

Well, the FBI has foiled several terror plots that it planned. The DEA has stopped plenty of drug deals that it set up. So, this shouldn’t surprise anyone:

The FBI Distributes Child Pornography to Catch People Who Look at It

Clinton said she wants to shut down non-compliant gun dealers

So says The Daily Caller. This turns out to be about 1 in 3 gun dealers. Non-compliance with ATF regulations and paperwork is the most common reason a dealer is out of compliance. Checking the wrong box, I suppose.

Also, from that article, looks like ATF inspections are up since Obama took office.

ATF reclassifies ammo components as explosives

Which could have greater handling requirements, making the manufacture of ammunition a bit more costly or impossible to make. Depending on who you read.

Interesting read on it at AmmoLand.

Court rules those with medical marijuana permits can be denied a gun purchase

ATF form 4473, that you fill out when you buy a gun, asks:

Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana, or any depressant, stimulant, or narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?

I would assume that your government giving you permission through your doctor would mean you were not an unlawful user of. But possessing a plant is a federal crime. The 9th circuit court ruled that the .gov can deny you a right because you have permission to own and use a plant.

The TSA on transporting firearms

Herschel talks about the inconsistencies. In my experience, the rules seem to vary by airport and, to a lesser extent, the airline. And sometimes even on the douche working the ticket counter.

Excellent

Seniors in America are a growing gun owning demographic.

In election news

Angela Corey, who is a horrible person, lost her re-election bid. You’ll remember her from her hit of prosecuting George Zimmerman.

John McCain handily won re-election. Arizona, WTF is wrong with you? So much for the anti-incumbent Trump bump.

14 years

This blog is fourteen today. I’m reminded because I’m a few days after Tam’s anniversary. It’s her 11th year.

We’re winning

A majority of Americans say gun rights are more important than gun control.

But it’s a winning issue

Democrat fight! One democrat says the other pushing unilateral gun control is bad for the party. They all mostly want to do that. Just not in an election year.

Speaking of knife in a gun fight

A mom and two children fought off a home invader with their samurai sword. The next day, mom bought a gun.

Taking a knife to a gun fight

That’s what one robber did to a local clerk and customer. The clerk, fortunately, was armed with a gun.

Do not respond

I’m not saying it’s aliens. But if it is, leave them alone.

Supposedly, an advance alien race has sent some sort of messaging beacon and SETI claims to have received it.

Local firearms type company

Liston has a review of the locally made Saf T Round. I can see the appeal of such a device to a novice or someone who wants a gun but isn’t too sure about it. But mostly, I don’t see a real need for a knowledgeable shooter.

Gun Porn

Australian AR-15s. Restrictive market but they don’t seem to be unnecessarily hung up about barrel length. And at that price, wow.

CAAs Roni G2 with Stabilizing Brace for Glock17/19. It used to be “put an M4 stock on everything”. Now, it’s “put a Sig Brace on everything.”

But gun ownership is on the decline

That’s what the anti-gunners have parroted for years now. It’s untrue. Someone is buying all these guns. Or are gun nuts just buying more? No. Gun ownership rises to 44% of all homes.

And that’s just those that would admit to a random person asking.

That’s pretty weird

Unusual magazine malfunction.

“journalism”

Headline:

Orlando machine gun event stirs controversy

First ‘graph:

An event where the public will get an opportunity to shoot a semi-automatic gun is being criticized by some.

Well, which is it?

And with no sense of irony whatsoever

Speaking of libertarian, I wish the Libertarians would run libertarians again. Instead of gun-banning tax and spenders that drank the Glowball Warmening Kool Aid..

Sometimes those things that only happen in other cities happen in your city

A local police officer, responding to a domestic violence call, was shot and killed yesterday. He had a wife and three kids. The community is pulling together with fundraisers and a vigil is scheduled for tonight.

Another gun maker in Tennessee

Vantage LLC will be investing $5M and creating 100 jobs in Nashville. They make shotguns, apparently.

Uhm, yeah

Cho kidding

Well, she has to try to be edgy. Otherwise people would realize how lacking in talent she is. This is an attempt to be relevant, I think.

Coddle up to the gun banners and that’s where they’ll throw you.

Black Gun Owners Matter

A movement to educate the black community about guns and gun rights. Excellent.

You guys could also talk to Rick and Kenn.

Only the police should have guns

The LA Times:

Seeking to stem the tide of gun thefts, state lawmakers on Wednesday sent the governor a bill that would require law enforcement officers and holders of concealed weapon permits to lock them up.

Specifically, anyone who leaves a firearm in a car would need to put it in the trunk or in a locked container out of plain view.

Violations would be an infraction subject to a fine of up to $1,000.

The security measure is currently required for most civilians but excludes police officers and those licensed to carry a concealed weapon.

Sen. Jerry Hill (D-San Mateo) said his bill expands those covered by the law because several handguns have been stolen out of police vehicles and used in deadly crimes.

Clearly, a stupid law. Unusual to add police to such stupid laws as they are typically exempted.

Quote of the day

Kevin D. Williamson:

These people are parasites. They make: nothing. They create: nothing. They produce: nothing. But they feel perfectly justified they positively glow with moral frisson standing between the people who create and build and the people who benefit from those creations. And they dont just stand there: They stand there with their hands out.

It’s true of most politicians.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
