Hillary Clinton on gun control: there’s too much freedom

And this should shock no one:

“I think again we’re way out of balance. We’ve got to rein in what has become almost an article of faith that almost anybody can have a gun anywhere at any time. And I don’t believe that is in the best interest of the vast majority of people,” she said.

She referred to recent high-profile incidents of minor disputes in movie theaters or parking lots that escalated into lethal shootings, saying, “That’s what happens in the countries I’ve visited that have no rule of law.”

Hillary’s comments are ironic, given the utter lawlessness of the Obama administration. A society will not fail because the citizens have the means to protect themselves. However, a society will fail when it turns into a kleptocracy that has no respect for the law, and use the government monopoly on force to enrich themselves, their families, and their cronies.

“Find someone in your party who’s reasonable … who’s not going to Washington proudly to destroy what our founders built.”

So now she’s saying don’t vote for Democrats?

  6. rich Says:

Given that the change in gun laws come as a direct result of the Supreme Court validating the Second Amendment, isn’t Hillary saying that the Constitution itself is out of balance? And if the Constitution is at fault, then isn’t this an indictment of the US system of government? I put it to you, Greg – isn’t this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we’re not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!

    (Sorry, Animal House flashback…)

This is one of the tropes of the Anti-gun people that really needs to be attacked. No idea about the parking lot incident she’s talking about, but the retired cop that shot the guy in the movie theater has been indited on murder charges and is locked up in jail right now, and unless some evidence that none of us has seen, he will never breath free air ever again.

Laws don’t STOP behavior, they simply give us means to PUNISH behavior.

But again, anti-rights people keep claiming if we pass one more law ™ X behavior will stop or be diminished. You know, like crack smoking!

It’s a flawed view of reality, and it needs to be trumpeted as such.

And note how even registration and licensing isn’t good enough for her.

Nope, she’s openly bragging about how she wants to reduce the number of people that can carry or own guns.

Why May Issue is such an article of faith for them.

Also for having no rule of law… it’s odd how those shooting incidents end up with police investigations and court proceedings.

    Talk about to much ‘freedom’…..

Where was Hillary the night of Benghazi? Did she have ‘to much freedom’ that night?

How did Vincent Foster die? Did Hillary have to much freedom that day?

How did Hillary make over $100,000 on cattle futures while with Bill in the WH? To much freedom?

I bet old Bill had to much ‘freedom’ with Monica.

Elect Hillary and there will be another Waco cause she feels we have to much ‘freedom’.

    Lumpy:

“Here is a big fat envelope full of campaign money … ooops, you are stalling on Shall Issue. Sorry, maybe we can talk later.”

You mean like those countries you visited where you had to duck sniper fire getting off the plane? Those countries?

  21. kahr4o Says:

I don’t know about politicians preferring unarmed peasants but bureaucrats surely do.

  24. Daniel in Brookline Says:

    “Too much freedom”, hmm?

How much freedom are Ty Woods and Glen Doherty entitled to, Mrs. Clinton? Well, they considered themselves free to save the 30+ people you left to die. They considered themselves free to sacrifice their lives to do so.

While you felt yourself free to lie to their grieving families about what they died for.

There’s indeed someone here with too much freedom, Mrs. Clinton, and it’s you. You are the Butcher of Benghazi, and you have the blood of your employees on your hands.
