Going to NYC

The Second Amendment Foundation and The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association have filed a lawsuit over gun permit fees:

The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association (NYSRPA) in conjunction with the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) have filed suit against the City of New York over the fees charged by the New York City Police Department for the costs associated with the processing of pistol license applications.

Excellent.

Awesome. I wonder if they get them to drop a few of the hoops in the city, if it would affect Long Island as well. When ever they tighten things in the city, it has immediate effects here, even though there is seperate gov’ts.

Last time I checked, its $400+ for 4 years here.

    $340?

What other fundamental enumerated rights cost almost a dollar a day to exercise for the first year?

  3. Lyle Says:

Simple solution to the problem of burdening the police with these license applications is of course to respect citizens’ rights and thus eliminate the licensing requirement entirely. Requiring police to actually protect people’s rights instead of charging money to infringe on those rights would be a bonus too.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
