Tax Spies

From the state that brought us Kelo, comes this:

Municipal Tax Services, a private Trumbull-based firm, will comb city streets at night with an infrared camera, photographing every license plate. Plate numbers automatically will be entered into a database that will be cross checked with the city’s grand list of taxable property.

If a business wouldn’t exist without the government using its services then it is not private. Period.

Seems like tax enforcement against the poor – since the rich tend to have a garage to store their cars in at night…

Which would cause me to install a series of powerfull infared LED’s around my license plate to overload the sensor on any such camera pointing at them.

  4. Tom Says:

think this might increase the theft of plates?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
