Armed Self-Defense Isn’t Supposed To Be “Sport”

Eugene Volokh:

Many people don’t want guns for “sporting” purposes. They want them to defend their and their family’s lives.

Hence, he says, why gun control arguments aren’t convincing. In recent years, I would say it’s not many but most. Hunting is on the decline and has been for years. Yet the recent uptick in firearms sales only recently lulled. People aren’t buying guns to hunt. They’re buying guns for defense. Of course, the various IDPA and IPSC leagues combine both defense and sport.

Who says hunting is merely a sport anyway? Three deer in the freezer if food for the family. It’s not *all* the food, no, but that’s a pretty high bar, by that definition trips to the grocery store would be “sport” too.

If I heard correctly, Sotomayor was asked today if there was a right of self-defense. He lame response was that she couldn’t think of any case law to support it.

    How about the Constitution?

The more she speaks, the more she shows how unqualified she is for ANY judicial position.

Since Sotomayor was brought up, I have one question.

Shouldn’t the people who are guiding her through this process at some point told her to wash her damn hair?

Criminal whacking should be a sport…

who can do the mozambique drill on an attacker the quickest?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
