Okay, I admit that I have been at it again.
Seriously, though, some of that increase must be attributable to the twofold increase in the sales price of ammo.
And did you see that $70 million was collected for conservation?

I was in a gun store yesterday asking about pistol caliber carbines. I asked about 4 different models from Marlin, Beretta, etc. The salesman told me that his distributor (a large one) hadn’t been able to supply any of these common models for the last 3-6 months. How do these people make any money if they can’t supply any products? Is it just ammo?

I have a feeling gun supplies are just a little tight because of people buying before the ’08 elections.
I know I just picked up an AK and while it was on order(had to get on a waiting list) the price jumped up.

I agree that the political climate (and understandable anxiety that it results in) will continue to impact gun sales.
I call CDNN and ordered a dozen Glock mags while the Virginia Tech massacre was still in progress.

I bought a gun from the CMP during the National Matches. Earlier in the year I bought a 1911 hardball service pistol for bullseye matches. Before that I bought a Krag, a Chilean Carbine, traded for a Jap 44 and bought a Swede M38. Other than that, I haven’t bought ANY guns this year. I don’t know anyone who has.
And I think I lost all these guns or gave them away. I don’t seem to have any around now and god knows, I’ve LOOKED.
So far, Texas hasn’t adopted that law that requires me to report them stolen or lost, so I’m not breaking the law by losing guns.
Maybe I sent them all to Jeff Soyer. I forget.

Wellk, I did my bit for the third quarter, and finally got around to purchasing my M1A yesterday. Or, rather, I paid a lot of money for an annoyingly small slip of paper, thanks to the idiotic “waiting period” inherent in all Kalifornistan firearm purchases. Fraking morons.

Linoge: Congrats on your paper, but I don’t consider paper a gun.
I was 18th in the Springfield Armory M1A Match at Camp Perry this year, with a borrowed gun. I don’t know where the heck it is now!

Trust me, neither do I. Ideally, in about eight days, the paper should magically transform itself into a gun, but until then, I am more than a little… annoyed.
