NRA stuff

While I was out, there were apparently some big doings that transpired at the NRA AM. Seems there was a vote to oust LaPierre and North wound up quitting. Sebastian and John have quite a bit of coverage of the issue.

Wasn’t Oliver North for a ban on semi-auto “military style” rifles? That is precisely what the 2nd Amendment protects, firearms suitable for the militia of a “free State”. The Bill of Rights were added to “prevent abuses and usurpations”, that is, going beyond its delegated powers. The Federal Government has NO delegated powers re: the what weapons the People choose to keep and bear for their security. Free People comprise free States. Article I, Section 8.16 restricts the fedgov to only “for governing such part of them (the militia) as may be EMPLOYED in its service. And according to the 10th Amendment, it may do NOTHING without delegated powers.

I made the mistake of signing up for 5 years with the NRA. It runs out 8/20 and won’t be renewed. I’m a life member of GOA and CCKBA. They get my donations, not the jerks at the NRA. Screw Wayne and Chris.

As I’ve said, Ollie went from hero to hustler so good riddance. I’ve also said the only way to save the union (ala Teamsters) that NRA has become is to burn it down and build anew, so what I’d hope for is as much pro RKBA activity on their part as possible through 11/20 and yeah then WLP and the rest of the ensconced politicians there need to go.

Not that there will be any real choice in the matter…NY and its bitches are going to turn the regulatory and investigative tools to make that happen anyway.

Sorry to see it go in many ways, but it’s time. And yeah, GOA. Until they get to pulling the same inevitable shenanigans in a year or ten. Change ain’t always good but it is pretty much always necessary.

Serious question to those touting GOA as an alternative to the NRA, what has GOA ever actually acomplished. Hve they ever successfully stopped or repealed any anti gun laws? Have they ever won any lawsuits?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
