He’d get my vote

And I laughed. The dude looking to primary Paul Ryan (a worthy cause) posted a youtube video of him bumpfiring without any sort of device. He then asks if we should ban fingers. And he showed that silencers don’t silence guns:

I am a little skeptical of the bump firing. First, he has some derpy AK pattern rifle with a horrible scope configuration. Then it gets cut to him at the firing line and he puts the rifle behind himself. Is it the same gun or did he grab a rubberband? Dunno. But the suppressor thing is right on.

Still, I think his point stands regardless of any editing in the vid.

First, derpy is as derpy does, and whatever the thing is it did squirt out a magful at a MG ROF.

Second, does it matter if he strapped on a rubber band or not? His question aout outlawing fingers would be just as on-point (heh) if he’d said rubber bands.

Third, the term “silencer” is in the same league as “gun violence”…Neither exist in the context they are used related to guns and they should never be repeated by gunnies and should always be corrected when used by antis. The former are “mufflers” which everyone instantly understands based on the automotive parallel. And the latter is “armed criminal violence” or just “criminal violence”. Use those terms religiously.

Fourth, I like that dude. I’d vote for him. What did you say he was running for again?

It’s not so bad. I don’t exactly like his vehement, Wayne LaPierre tone of voice, and I don’t like the tacit implication that smarter, more knowledgeable Congresswhores SHOULD be writing our anti-liberty, anti-constitutional gun restrictions for us, but I’ve heard a lot worse.

Basically I see an emotionally-driven person in that vid, and although it inflicts a majority of people on all points along the political spectrum, the disease should be far less common among real Americans.

Yeah yeah; if I want perfection I’m going to be disappointed every time. Sucks to be me then.

So that argument which says certain anti-constitutionalists are too dumb to be making law? Yeah that. So you’d rather have evil, Marxist geniuses lording over you than evil, Marxist idiots? See the problem with the argument?

So no; rather than either of the the first two, I would that dumb, yet principled, rational American patriots NOT lord over us, but do everything in their ability protect liberty instead. A principled genius patriot would be much better, don’t get me wrong. I’m going through the options here. If I had to choose between the evil genius and the evil idiot, then please, give me the idiot (he’ll be easier to defeat).

See the point? Anyone? I ask because I see that “too-dumb-to-be-the-ones-violating-our-rights” argument over and over and over. It rather misses the point,

He often calls into Breitbart News Radio on SiriusXM 125. He is actually very level and well spoken…and very liberty oriented. I would be thrilled if he were running for Corker’s seat in TN.

  4. beatboxq Says:

Oh good. Help drive home the talking point that there are no differences between semi auto and full auto guns.

  5. HL Says:

Right, Beatboxq…full auto shouldn’t be treated any more restricively than semi.

  6. Drake Says:

He had me at “looking to primary Paul Ryan”.

  7. Beatbox Says:

Sorry HL, stuff like this will have the opposite effect and come back to bite gun owners.

  8. JTC Says:

Oh right, he did mention Paul Ryan.

So he’s what, some kind of politician you say?

Lyle and others attribute way too much power or potential for it to these pods of all stripes. They’re functionaries…we’re weeding out the dysfunctional ones and hiring us some who function like we want.

That’s what happened in Nov. ’08. Just gotta keep the firing and hiring going our way in ’12 and ’16. And after that, well I’m old enough and genetically short-lived enough for it to be somebody else’s cross to bear.

  9. JTC Says:

’08, ’12, and ’16? God, those death genes are kicking in early and starting with the brain ones.

’16, ’20, and ’24 of course. After which it’ll be ’28 and I’ll be blissfully dead. If not sooner.

  10. Ron W Says:

Good health, strength and many years more to you, JTc!

  11. JTC Says:

Ron W, well now that’s just cruel. 🙁

Thanks though. Have a good weekend! 🙂

  12. Michael Says:

Why do y’all want to primary a Conservative for a fruitcake who will just hand the seat over to a Dem? Ryan is in a swing district, and is the most conservative leader the GOP has seen in quite a while.

How about targeting a Democrat for once?
