What’s in a headline?

Headline: Some Chicago gangs turning to rifles for added firepower, police say

Yeah, it went from a whopping 3 in one month to 9 two months later.

    So what if it’s a thousand? Would that nullify the second amendment? Because the Bill of Rights came with a crime threshold for nullification of the Bill of rights? Because high crime does not call for an increased capacity for self defense?

    So, Democrat Party policies = increased crime and corruption = failure to get a handle on crime = wholesale rights nullification = …what? More crime.

    Thatís their formula? Iím not even going to engage in that conversation. The answer is, “No! Fuck off! Leave us alone, or else!”

    Drain the (corrupt Progressive/authoritarian) swamp, before it overtakes the whole country.

  3. Ron W Says:

    @Lyle, they do be
    They do believe that increased crime ” calls for an increased capacity for self defense.” But that’s only for the elite ruling class and the super wealthy (like Hollywood) where they have walled estates with private armed security. That’s obvious because when the elite ruling class propagandizes or passes gun laws, they always EXEMPT THEMSELVES!

    It’s the Chicago Tribune . The fact that the headline doesn’t scream ” assault weapons ” and that the text quotes the police as them being ” AR-`15 and AK-47 like ?? ” gives pause to any credulity on the reporting .

  5. BDubya Says:

    I can’t speak for the gang bangers in Chicago, but my military training impressed upon me the importance of bringing a rifle to a gun fight.

    If I must, I will use my pistol to provide suppressive fire while I go get my rifle.

  6. mikee Says:

    The question not asked is why the gangs are starting to use rifles now instead of a Glock Fotay to cap some rival’s ass. Are they simply using stolen weapons more openly, instead of ditching the rifles and keeping the handguns like they used to do? Are they sniping their opponents, like CoD players? Are they actually learning military tactics from veterans who happen to be gang members first and always? Are they listening to the press about the awesome killing power of bullet-spraying weapons of mass destruction in .223 caliber, and actively seeking these nearly nuclear armaments because of the antigunner’s exaggerations?

  7. Ron W Says:

    @mikee, so far the media and anti-gun politicians don’t seem to care much about Chicago murders, but if more murders result from different weapons, so-called “assault” weans, I predict they will care, politically, so as to promote an AWB.

    Has anybody checked to make sure ATF isn’t replaying their Fast & Furious role of gun supplier, this time to Chicago gangs?
