Good: Court rules non-serious convictions aren’t grounds for restricting gun rights

SAF with the release. Alan Gura on the court’s decision:

Todays victory confirms that the government cant simply disarm anyone it wishes

Speaking of Gura, he has a piece at SCOTUS blog on what’s at stake on the Supreme Court and why a friendly appointment might not be enough.

    They’re working on it by attacking and violating the 5th Amendment “due process of law” with the SECRET, ARBITRARY “no fly list” by which they will deny your right to buy. It’s not only the 2nd Amendment, but we must demand ALL of the Bill of Rights!!

  2. Publius Says:

    @Ron W

    It won’t pass scrutiny, but it won’t matter because you won’t be able to get standing to sue because you won’t know you’re on the list (because it’s secret) so that might not be the reason why you can’t buy one! It’s magic!

  3. Publius Says:

    Or maybe it’s okay because it’s actually a tax?

  4. Ron W Says:

    Oh but, Publius, they gotta do what they gotta do to “keep us safe”.

  5. DocMerlim Says:

    This is what happens when the state is in charge of law.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
