Do you give firearms advice on the internet?

An interesting question. I do so less and less. And once the derp rears its head, I tend to just back slowly away. It’s 2016 and people on the local gun board are still arguing that one shot from a 45 is all it ever takes.

One shot should be enough but I always try to have enough ammo on hand for a second shot. Just to be certain.

  2. Linoge Says:

I tell people what works for me, if they ask.

  3. Erik Says:

Why not? Of anything I care about, someone taking my advice is not high on the list.

  4. j t bolt Says:

That’s because one shot from a .45 is all it ever takes.

  5. HL Says:

I always recommend a SCAR 17, regardless of the question.

  6. SPQR Says:

Alvin York, dude, that’s all I’m saying.

Heh. I think it was John Connor (of American Handgunner, not, ‘The Terminator’) who wrote, “It’s not enough to shoot a bad guy ’til you think he’s dead—you have to shoot him ’til HE thinks he’s dead.”

My own rule of thumb goes something like, “Empty the magazine. Reload. Assess the situation. Repeat as necessary.”

I say – The right firearm is the one that YOU will train with, become proficient in it’s use, and feel comfortable carrying. That is right firearm for YOU.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
