Well, I did load up Mr. Blasty for the work day

Tomorrow is 9/11. There may or may not be planes missing. There may or may not be different brown-skinned people coming in the country from the southern border. There is probably not anything going to happen. But I put an AR and 5 mags in the truck anyway.

    There’s a thought.

Well the propane tank needed filled anyway, and took care of the groceries today, and gas tank topped off. A few errands to run tomorrow, and yeah the AR will be at hand

It’s really a pain because I have to drop the boy off at school on the way to work. Would have to drive back home again. And then I have the same problem when school lets out and I have to pick him up…

You probably also have a fire extinguisher handy when welding, and insurance on your car and house.

Appropriate precautions are just that – appropriate.

The anti-gun people will still trumpet that you are a paranoid loon.

You’re not the only one up-armoring today:

Shit! I forgot to put the SCAR in my wife’s car today! And she’s a school teacher!

    Boy Scout.

I did not throw in a long arm, but did an an extra box of 9mm. I have 14 miles to go to get home should the lights go out, but I expect I will have a day or two before everything gets all pear shaped and I have a river corridor I can use to get home.

    YMMV

it just so happened that it was ‘bring your rifle to work day’ here as well. heh

  9. Will Brown Says:

I’ve been keeping a well packaged SKS with 5 20-round magazines locked up in the bed box of my pick-up for years now, because “truck gun” is the same category tool “jack” is. Inside a gun sock inside a closed case seems to keep rifle and loaded mags in stable condition quite reliably in my experience so far.

SKS in a gun sock in a closed case in a truck box?

SKS probably yearning for some nice mud by now.

  11. Ron W Says:

Boston’s Gun Bible recommends a dedicated rifle as a “truck gun”. It’s a book that should be in every gunner’s library.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
