We don’t need due process
A bill in NJ that would allow police to take your guns if your friends think you’re crazy.

It’s a process. It gets done to you. Ergo, due process.

Living in New Jersey: evidence of mental issues.
Even the NJ police can understand that.

We will see a lot more of this anti-gun approach.
Specifically, that a person who seeks help for depression, anxiety, sleep, sore throat, sore crank, etc. should not be able to own a gun.

Oh, kind of like California already has with the five year ban for anyone who gets 5150ed? There is also a linked CNN article in there about a similar bill introduced in CA that is weaker than current law! The new law to “fix” this problem requires sign-off from a judge, while current law only required probable cause (the lowest standard) that the person is a danger to themselves or others for the police to bring them into a treatment facility for observation. If the clinic admits the person, the five year ban is triggered. The ban happens on admission for an involuntary observation. So if doctors begin an observation, and quickly realize there’s been a misunderstanding and release the person- the still Are barred from even keeping guns they currently own for the next five years! But there aught to be a law…
