I live 20 miles north of Austin, in Round Rock, where there are no roadside panhandlers allowed, the highway bridges have 6″ rubble under them to discourage homeless campsites, there is no place I know of to pick up day laborers who don’t speak English, and prosecutors are convicted of concealing evidence that sent the wrong people to jail for 20+ years.

Austin is both a Nuclear Free City and a Sanctuary City, where the City Council has decreed that any nuclear explosions are banned, but illegal immigrants are treated as well or better than the native residents/subjects. Local talk radio keeps track of a a 40-ish guy who, in pleasant weather, rides a bike around town wearing only a thong.

Pflugerville, which used to house mostly poor rednecks and is now a strip mall on the highway and lots of apartments, lies between us and Austin. They have bumper stickers that read, “Pflugerville: Between a Rock and a Weird Place.”

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
