Decibels

The Seahawks stadium hit about 138dbs for a world record. A gun shot is 140db. Their stadium holds 67K. Neyland holds 102,455. Challenge accepted.

Well, theirs is partially enclosed which is a huge help. A bigger help is that they have something to cheer about.

I’ve been in Neyland when the Vols were playing the Gators.

The flight deck of an aircraft carrier is somewhat quieter.

Of course they didn’t allow 49’er fans, so nothing to ‘dilute’ the noise…

140dB? Not unsuppressed, Unc. Usually more like mid 160s and then a sonic crack is around 140-145dB. Suppressed most non-magnum centerfire are below 140dB these days, with rimfire being below 120dB with a good can.

So, is it just me, or is it strange that Washington and Colorado, the two states where pot is totally legal, are having a Super Bowl?

Kyle Field (aka, the House that Johnny is Building, at Texas A&M) will seat 102,500 when the renovations are done for the 2015 season. (Current capacity is 82,000)

And it quite literally sways when the fans ‘saw varsity’s horns off’ after a win.

Reinforcing my desire to not attend sporting events.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
