NY won’t reveal how many people have complied with registration rules

So reports Reason. Well, maybe citizens see what registration in NY leads to.

And they’re probably not releasing the numbers for the same reason you can’t get good Obamacare sign up numbers: there’s not many.

I’m hesitant to attribute this to anything yet. I don’t doubt many are just outright refusing, and a bunch are probably waiting to see which way the wind blows with the lawsuits.

Speaking of: There’s new info up about the lawsuit at the NYS Pistol and Rifle Assoc.

But I hear in NYC they sent out hundreds of letters demanding the owners of shotguns that hold more than 5 rounds turn in their guns or prove they either removed them for NYC or altered them to not hold more than 5 rounds.

    Registration DOES lead to confiscation!

  3. CaptDMO Says:

Mindful that this is apparently only about “numbers”,
, there HAVE been certain “issues” with giving “certain” media outlets gun registration information in the NY area before.

  4. mikee Says:

CaptDMO is technically correct, which is the best kind of correct, especially when dealing with a government bureaucracy.

Gun registration info, such as numbers registered, is qualitatively different from names and addresses of gun registrees.

Sort of like the difference between supporting the Democrats, as opposed to voting for a specific accused rapist.

  5. Old NFO Says:

I think next year is when we’ll REALLY see what is going on up there…

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
