No charges filed? That sounds familiar. Given that everything the press reported about the first Zimmerman trial was substantially wrong, I’ll reserve judgment. And, you know, it’s not like any woman involved in a divorce proceeding has ever lied about this sort of thing. Right?

And now there are reports that the police found no guns on Zimmerman or at the scene.
So now the national headline is basically ‘Zimmerman has argument with estranged wife and in-laws’ which is just pathetic even by the standards of the drive-by media.

@nk: You’re right about the prosecutor bit, but other than that I wouldn’t give that perjury conviction any weight whatsoever – the charge was nothing more than a pathetically transparent attempt to pressure her husband into a plea deal, and following the prosecution of it through to conclusion was just a way to get back at him for daring to take his case to trial. The terms of her plea were such that it was better for her than winning at trial.
OTOH, if they decide she was lying about this, she may lose her ability to have the perjury conviction expunged under the deal – deals like that generally require “good behaviour” for the agreed period.

IF I was an untrusting type of individual, I would think that Mrs. Z found out how expensive a divorce can be. It COULD be that she is wanting to make him a ‘prohibited person’ so that some of the race warriors might kill him and save her a lot of time and money.

Lautenberg Amendment. A domestic violence order would disarm him. Thankfully, he has good lawyers, and in this instance his bodyguard as a witness.

They’re saying now that the soon to be exes refused to sing an afadavit to press charges and GZ offered up the house security tapes.
Seems like the soon to be ex-wife decided another perjury charge wasn’t in her best interest to me…
