Meh. He’s just trying vainly to prop up the latest PRI marxist.
The young Mexican middle class, which far outspends the “patron” class down there, is rapidly tiring of their new lefty Presidente, whose efforts at accommodating the cartels has only resulted in the cartels moving into more cities in the tourist zone, cities they stayed out of under Calderon.
The PRI is thereby killing the goose that lays the golden eggs – the tourist business. I have two timeshares there, and would travel there no less than twice a year, but I haven’t been there since 2009 because of the cartel threat. I don’t just stay at my resort when I’m there, I travel all over, and I can’t do that any more. My lack of spreading yanqui dollars is multiplied by many times.
