More on the KPD’s Glocks
Claims that the triggers were freezing and the pins were failing. I’ve never encountered either issue with Glocks. These claims surprise Glock. And Glock provides guns to 72% of PDs? Did not know the number.

Why do I get the feeling that the root cause of this is a single sloppy/ignorant armorer?
I’m no Glock fanboi, but still.

I’ve had exactly one pin break on a Glock – on a very high-mileage G21 police trade-in – that was also so dirty in the slide grooves that it actually stove piped a few rounds of Wolf (now, that’s DIRTY!). The pistol still worked fine, but because the slide stop catch was loose & flopping, it occasionally locked the slide back early (which is how I noticed it).
I’m thinking they’re reaching for an excuse here..

…”14 submachine guns, six 37mm launchers,”…
What in Hades are city cops doing with subs and grenade launchers?
I don’t like the idea of my employees being better armed than I am.

So they have 384 officers and are getting 225 Sig’s while trading in 630 Glocks. Do those number not add up to anyone else?
Also 225 Sigs @ 550 each = 123,750
630 Glock 22 @ 350 = 220,000
Plus everything else they are paying the FFL, seems like somebody is getting rich on this deal.
