Cash for clunkers

A tax credit for turning in “assault weapons”. I’d likely have a fortune in unused parts in the gun room.

My thought was that with a 3d printer and some spray paint you might make enough to pay off the printer

I guess people are not realizing that they’d be paying with IOUs. It’s not like they have the money, they just print more treasury notes and tag those to your (or your children’s) tab.

Markie Marxist sez: “Cool! We get Americans to sell us their right to bear arms by paying them to give it up with their own money! It’s like a double rip off! We take their guns and their money too! Ha! Ha! Rosa Delauro is a GOOD communist! Ha! Ha!”

Markie Marxist apparently can’t f$cking read.

First, this isn’t going to pass; all we’re doing here is making fun of how dumb it is.

Second, they’re paying for everything with fake money right now, from EBT cards to EC-130s. At this point, it’s like complaining about the weather; it’s going to just go on like this until something breaks.

I think it may have been Tam’s site where there was a (potentially profitable) discussion on how to game this initiative.

To wit: take out the crappiest carbine you have (such as that ugly-ass Hi-Point), jack up the potential resale value, and take that amount as a tax credit. Then, turn around and use the savings to buy an AR or AK (assuming you can find them).

I think the entire deal was renamed the “Unorganized Militia Weaponry Upgrade and Improvement Act”. Catchy.

  7. Patrick Says:

I liked Tam’s view of it: “The 2013 Militia Upgrade Act” or something of that nature.

It’s a fun thing to talk about. But yeah. Not gonna happen.

Unless we get the NRA to support it. Hmmm…

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
