Gun Rights Policy Conference

It’s in Orlando this year and not some anti-gun city.

Orlando is anti-gun, but Florida law makes it harder for them to go completely Brady Bunch. It’s not SAF-friendly territory when it comes to the politics. The people near Orlando…maybe. But not the machine.

True, you can carry while in town. But the city hall and local politicians are as anti-gun as any other liberal town. They are the ones who are using tax dollars to pay one of Bloomberg’s trolls to lobby the state legislature for more gun control. And God help you if you pull that trigger in their town, justified or not. It ain’t gonna be pretty.

When I am in Florida, I generally avoid Orlando. It’s the kind of place you want to carry a gun, but also the kind of place where you want to hide the fact you are carrying. Police can come up with a lot of reasons to stop you, and they never even have to talk about the gun.

    There’s a small-time gun blogger I know that’s going to be there.

    We should meet up.

Well said Patrick. I was thinking the exact same thing when I read not some anti-gun… I was under the impression that mayors against guns has a strong following in that area…

Florida is a patchwork of crazy, both left and right. Tampa is blue; Manatee is Red, but Sarasota is kinda pinkish/purple. Atlantic changes every few pulses of the N/S compass. Miami…is Miami. Orlando is the blue center of the red soup. Panhandle depends on how close your home is to a Walmart or a Beach Wine Bar.

    Funny stuff down there.

    Yeah…I be a part-time resident (one-third and growing).

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
