I’m thinking the mag is in a case attached to the right side of the rifle (I’ve seen them carried this way by off-duty IDF soldiers in other pics). The silencer is more interesting, haven’t seen that before.

Ditto Bill, there is no suppressor. You can see the birdcage clearly…what everyone thinks is a supressor is actually the dark space between two chair legs.

So no mag in the gun? Open AR Mag wells tend to get sand in them (and Israel does have alot of sand.)
I’d have at least put an empty mag in the weapon to prevent sand from entering (but then I’d have put a LOADED mag in the gun, chamber empty.)
I presume the IDF mandates this empty-gun thing, sort of like the U.S. Army does alot. Good for the bureaucrats, bad for the grunts in the field.

The mags are usually bungee corded to the stock. I have seen rifles carried like this all over the country(most of what I saw on the beach was the M1 Carbine).
