Even more fast and furious stuff

Obama to congress: Fuck you

Candidate Obama on executive privilege. He should talk to this president Obama guy.

NRA to score the Holder contempt vote.

Damn good questions:

How can the President assert executive privilege if there was no White House involvement? How can the President exert executive privilege over documents he’s supposedly never seen?

If the Obama narrative is true (like all things, it’s Bush’s fault. Which is a lie), then Holder should be commended.

Went to lunch today and the radio was still on the local news talk channel and Rush Limbaugh was talking about fast and furious. He said, probably rightly, that it was a plan to gin up support for gun control.

If the Obama narrative is true… then why is he using executive privilage in a “questionable” way to cover up for…. Bush?

If Holder really is the hero for “ending” F&F, then why stonewall congress, why have the President come in to claim EP on documents Holder has testified that Obama’s never seen.

Man this Obama guy really puts his neck on the line for Bush.

    Oh, no kiddin’

So our government agents were “giving aid and comfort ot their (the States) enemies” as a pretext to restrict or deny 2nd Amendment rights.

Read Article III, Section 3, U.S. Constitution. If words mean anything at all….that’s treason!!!

Because it’s not “Presidential Privilege”. It can be applied to any prerogative of the Executive Branch (as it has been by previous Presidents) – though of course Congress can ignore the claim if it wants and eventually cause a minor Constitutional Crisis or a dramatic Supreme Court case.

(And Contra Ron W, I don’t think a Treason charge has a chance in hell of succeeding, if only on the grounds that various Mexican drug gangs are not, in the relevant sense, which is that of “Enemies” at war with the States or plotting the same, or otherwise avowedly hostile to the Union as such, not merely people who are criminals in another nation and might clash with the Border Patrol.)

  4. Seerak Says:

Sigivald is right; apparently, Nixon’s invocation of the executive privilege was of the secondary, weaker sort, which is why it was overrided.

My first thought when I heard of this was that E.P. was invoked because what’s in the protected documents might trigger quite the international incident.

  5. Todd Says:

You know, Since the Mexicans are very hot about this situation. Maybe, if they ever manage to pin anything on holder. We should extradite Holder to Mexico to stand trial in their court system. Just a thought.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
