Dating as wealth transfers

So in the end, the average woman can expect to get $14,000 over the course of her life in free food, movies, drinks and other forms of entertainment.

A reasonable person might argue that essentially all sex is prostitution anymore…it’s just the currency exchanged which varies.

  2. mikee Says:

So you are saying women know what they are, but are still negotiating the price?

Broken down into, say, a 30 year active sex life of at least 1x to 2x per week, that makes $14k/(30×1.5×52)=$5.98 per act.

Any union leader would see this low a price being paid and start organizing to increase worker income. Pun intended.

  3. John Richardson Says:

To take what Mikee says and extrapolate from there, one study in the Journal of Sexual Health found sex last an average of 7.3 minutes. They had the woman use a stop watch to time it.

    Thus, (60/7.3)* $5.98 = an hourly rate of $49.15.

Those sound like union wages to me.

I want $14000 worth of sex, dammit.

Perhaps the other commenters have more game, but I found you had to work the percentages on placing your bets as not all were winners. But perhaps that is showing my age when such things required more upfront capital outlay and hard work. Heck even arranging the evening required finding a phone with privacy and a booty call could require going a couple miles to find a pay phone.

Ah the youngins, they know not how easy they have it or the girls are these days.

Dating is an expensive thing. For those who have not been on the market for some time, I will tell you that it is easy to find sex, difficult to find women not looking for free meals.
Many women are predators on the prowl for free stuff. The average date costs about $150-$250. Even a dinner at a relatively cheap chain restaurant like Outback costs about $60. Add to that the $20 for two movie tickets at the low end and you are near $100.
Try a date to a decent show and dinner at a nicer restaurant, and the price tag nears $300.
There are many women who play this game for all it is worth. They will string guys along, knowing the entire time that they have no interest in him, but when they are collecting hundreds a week in free meals and entertainment, it is too easy.

Nice to see like minded folks! Why is prostitution illegal again?

  8. Rivrdog Says:

Nice to have the data. Now, maybe Gauleiter Geithner can suggest how that distaff income might be taxed, to lower the daffy cit, dontcha know?

  9. Bill Says:

I’ve been married 28 years. That last 6 months before I started dating the woman who became my wife, I spent between $7-10,000 on dates. I’m guessing the $14000 is REALLY low.

And you guys are extrapolating long term relationships into that figure. Doesn’t work. That $14,000 is before the expenses associated with long term relationships are calculated in, clothes, cars, rings. etc.

We all WISH sex could be found at that price, but we all KNOW better.

  10. Lyle Says:

That’s sexism, right there. I guess we need a federal program of “Sexual Justice” wherein we forcefully redistribute wealth from women to men, you know, to even the score from the last few thousand years. “It’s time to cash the check!”

And yeah; 14 grand seems quite low. Hell, one little old car is more than that. What about the townhouse?

    “…other forms of entertainment.”

    Bow chicka wow wow.

  12. comatus Says:

At that rate, having sex with a man instead of a woman should cost $7.67 per act, since it is the government’s official policy that women are paid 78% of what men make. We’re sure to see a great deal of research on this question in the near future.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
