Tyranny of majority

Our opponents are all for it. They say that if the courts say it’s constitutional then you cannot resist when the .gov rounds someone up based on ethnicity. And the Greeks elected some Nazis, the response is funny. And Nazis are far right? Ok, then.

  1. Ron W Says:

    Total gov’t (left)Anarchy no gov’t (right)

All authoritarian, dictatorial, command and control governments are leftist to the opposite extreme of anarchy. The best government is in the middle of this political spectrum, maybe tending toward the right side with a Constitution restricting the government to “delegated powers” with a Bill of Rights declaring the rights of the people which cannot be violated except through “due process of law”.

  2. mikee Says:

The best government is one limited both by rule of law and a respect under that law for individual rights.

Anything else ends up totalitarian or Somalian anarchic.

If individual rights are secondary to the “needs of the people” as a whole, there will be nothing to stop anything done in the name of “the people.”

And consensus or simple democracy through majority rule are means of defeating both the rule of law and individual rights.

There has to be a way for an individual to say “NO!” and to enforce it with a “HELL NO!” against all the powers of the government.

  3. Alan Says:

Left and Right are a socialist creation. Left is international socialism and RIght is national socialism. The left/right spectrum doesn’t allow for non-socialist governments. That’s how they control the argument.

  4. Bubblehead Les Says:

So when the Marxists go Judge Shopping to declare something Unconstitutional, it’s GOOD, but when the Right gets a Judge to say it’s Unconstitutional, it’s BAD?

Anybody hear of an Ammo Sale this week? Might be needing some extra if these Yahboos get their way.

  5. Mu Says:

Just to clear up the “left and right” history, this seating arrangement (and that’s where the terms come form) predate socialism; for example in 19th century France it was used to keep the republicans and the monarchists apart.

  6. Lyle Says:

I don’t know much about the 19th century, but in 20th century European Think, Left is communism and aaaall the way, faaaar over to the Extreme Right is Fascism (a miniscule variation on communism, designed as a step toward communism).

The American Principles of Liberty do not register on their yard stick, so we’re lumped in with the Nazis. Their “yard stick” is about a sixteenth of an inch long, whereas we are about sixteen yards to the Right of where theirs ends.

The U.S. has in fact become more and more Fascist (that is to say; we’ve moved WAY far to the left) and we’re still moving to the left. We’ve practically never had a capatalist country. We’ve never fulfilled the American Promise.

  7. Roger Says:

National Socialists are not socialists?? Not based in large part on Karl Marx’s theorys? HAH! BS on that.
The worlds most despised National Socialist Adolph Hitler (AKA Shickelgruber) Was originally a Communist and ‘evolved’ into a National Socialist. Both basically the same politically. The difference is that with the Nazis the govt. did not own the industries, they just told them what to do and how to do it. The Communists took over ownership. Not a hell of a lot of difference.
Both forms of socialism have track records of murdering millions of people. Name me one democratic republic that has a track record like that.

  8. Alan Says:

The US murdered millions of native aborigines. Estimates are between 1 and 100 million depending on who did the research. It was at least in the several millions.

The US was, at the time, a democratic republic.

ALL governments kill. It’s not just a socialist vice.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
