In DC

The city folds: Give the Council of the District of Columbia some credit. They’re actually responding to criticisms about how the city’s gun laws are being implemented.

Because they are afraid of congress passing something that would get their liberal panties in a wad…

  2. mikee Says:

No, they are not responding to criticism. They were criticized for 30 years and did nothing.

They are responding to the rule of law being shoved up their backsides like a red hot poker. And if it weren’t quite so hot and shoved quite so forcefully they wouldn’t be doing the little they have done so far.

  3. Jeff from DC Says:

City Council deserves no credit. They talk out of the sides of their mouths. While Mendelson is praising the 2nd amendment rights of District residents, not five years ago he and the other council members were doing everything they could to prevent private ownership. The entire City Council should be shelved. According to the FBI, that might be happening sooner than later.

Uh, “…we’ll wait a couple of Months until the New Ammo Law goes into effect, THEN we’ll Train the Cops?”

Uh, hello, it’s called “Shift Change,” and the Unions will be happy to get the extra Dues Money that the Overtime generated.

But in the mean time, keep on messing with the RKBA!

  5. Jeff Says:

    @Bubblehead Les

What are you talking about? Union Dues aren’t generated by overtime. The vast majority of rank and file Officers are pro-RKBA.

If someone is an ass, and they change to become less of an ass, regardless of why they changed it needs to be noted and praised.

That’s not letting them off the hook, that’s simply training them like a child or a puppy. It’s a lot easier with a little treat.

If they want to pretend like they felt that way all along, so what? We know the truth, they know the truth, and the allies like the VPC and Brady they just betrayed know it too. It means the political winds are on our side when their team’s “waffles” flip our way. Don’t get indignant, get smug.

It isn’t all-or-nothing; it isn’t like we’re going to quit. We push, they give, we say “thanks” and push them to give more.

Every retreat by anti-gun forces, particularly in a traditionally anti-gun locale, that doesn’t result in negative effects (and they won’t) is a waving red flag that we are right, they are wrong, and they can’t justify those same restrictions anywhere else.

I can’t believe how much folks on the pro-gun side bitch about winning.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
