Are “assault weapons” in common use

David reports what’s at issue in the Illinois gun ban case. There is no doubt that AR-15s are in common use. More importantly is the recognition that there is no uniform definition of “assault weapon,” so that statements about “assault weapons” in general are mostly meaningless.

    Of course they’re in Common Usage! Just ask any 18-21 year old who is Prevented by Federal Law from purchasing a Handgun for Self Defense.

    And they are allowed to have the Shoulder Thing that goes Up, too!
