We’re all terrorists now

The AP brings us news of some hope and change:

The U.S. intelligence community will be able to store information about Americans with no ties to terrorism for up to five years under new Obama administration guidelines.

Until now, the National Counterterrorism Center had to destroy immediately information about Americans that already was stored in other government databases when there were no clear ties to terrorism.

I regularly discuss politics on the phone with a longtime friend, a retired DIA analyst. He always begins the conversations with something like, “How is the bomb making going in your garage, and did you go to your jihad meeting this week?”

So I’m up the creek already when the new system comes online.

When I worked in DC I was explicitly warned by my administration that all phone calls within DC were stored and reviewed by NSA for national security purposes, and not to mess around with phone conversations about illegal drugs, weapons of mass destruction, or other nonsense. Chilled many a conversation I had with folk about world events in the 1990s.

I’ll bet that they will include NICS data. Probably already have. Jack.

Does it matter anymore? A reasonable person would logically conclude that any and every conclusion made by government – and law enforcement – is colored by false data and by their desire to form conclusions THEN construct evidence. As such, is there are reason any longer to think we live in a system ruled by law? If not, then it is reasonable to presume “Might makes right” and henceforth conclude that to survive, it is reasonable to prepare and to go with the flow in acting on the apparently governmental-supported beliefe that “the best defesne is a good offense”. If – I say if – all that is true, then citizens everywhere should believe that agents of government are the enemy. If, then, government, declares war . . . Just saying.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
