Light Bulb Police

This reminds me. I have a business plan. I will start making 99 watt incandescent light bulbs. I need investors. Who’s with me?

Everyone has a SWAT team

A bit back, the Department of Education was looking to get some short barreled shotguns. And we wondered why. Seems it’s so they can conduct SWAT raids to collect student loan payments.

Really? It’s come to this?

Update: Tam: Look me in the eye and defend this.

The trouble is, there is no one to justify it to. This is an out of control bureaucracy that our elected officials have neither the time nor inclination to rein in. Just like all the other bureaucracies.

Scary UN gun proposals

While their recurring wish list of gun control proposals does contain some scary stuff, the likelihood of the US agreeing to any of it is so small that I’m not that concerned.

Baltimore police slightly alarmed at bumper stickers

Watch out! He’s got a Gadsden flag:

while the individual who is displaying the symbol may not be armed, the presence of the symbol provides an early warning indicator that you MAY be about to encounter an armed individual.

Looks like the police also took a TV news crew’s cameras.

Who needs a gun . . .

. . . when?

We’re winning

Chicago Police Chief distancing himself from gun control, Daley:

“My goal is to bring the gun debate back to the center,” McCarthy told aldermen. “I think that we have abolitionists on one side and I think that we have NRA and those kind of folks on the other side, and frankly it’s too polarizing a debate, and 95 percent of the country is somewhere in between.”

And carry permits are up. In Sacramento, California!

They’re losing

Anti-gunners losing at social media and fund raising.

Another reason to despise GM

Sure, they took a bunch of bailout money then lied about paying it back. And acted ungrateful about it all. Now, their CEO says gas taxes should be upped $1/gallon to promote their Chevy Volts.

Meanwhile, Obama lies about the bailed out companies repaying their debt.

Nickels is money too

Man charged with disorderly conduct for paying disputed medical bill in pennies:

the arresting officer contended that West’s protest served “no legitimate purpose.”

Oh, well, that makes it OK. I mean if some one says it serves no purpose then you lose your right to protest and engage in commerce.

More ATF guns in Mexico

Some guns used to shoot down helicopter were ‘walked’ guns.

CDC Misrepresents Their Crime Data to Promote Gun Control

Just like they’ve always done.

Gun sales up

Despite the VPC perpetuating the myth that gun ownership is down, NSSF reports the 12th Straight Month-Over-Month Increase for NSSF-adjusted NICS Figures.

Calibers on hand

Compared to Tam, I’m a piker. I keep .380, 6.8SPC, 22LR, 5.56, 9mm and 45acp.

The non-event that wasn’t

A non event was non-scheduled for June 5 wherein a bunch of folks would just go about their usual business only while open carrying a gun. And some folks did just that. For Breda, it was a minor event, being asked to cover that heater at Wal-Mart.

As for me, I was told to not carry. At a gun range. On the drive home, I had to swing by the local grocery store for some hamburger buns. And nothing happened.

About that Al Qaeda Guy Going On About Gun Shows

Apparently, he doesn’t factor in that he is a prohibited person.

And it is odd that he spouts exactly the talking points of some gun ban groups. He must get his news from CNN.

He has a piece in the Courier Journal.
