Outright blame

JOANNA MOLLOY blames the NRA, other states, and gunmakers for a specific death. Then claims:

New York has the best gun laws in the country, but that doesn’t matter, because 92.3% of the thousands of recovered guns used in crimes here were either from outside the state or illegal.

And how are those working out?

Um, if the guns move from out of state to NY, aren’t they automatically illegal?

  2. Skippy Says:

Well, the 92.3% claim makes perfect sense. Nature abhors a vacuum.

  3. TerryP Says:

    What dan says!
In the paragraph following the big 92.3% figure:
“Glocks bought at gun shows in states like Georgia and South Carolina come by car up the “Iron Pipeline” of I-95 to our poor neighborhoods, where young gang members can buy them right out of the trunk.”

Even without replacing the words “Glocks bought at gun shows” with the truth (Glocks stolen from law-biding citizens) all these guns by definition are illegal.

  4. Hartley Says:

That would seem to mean that 7.7% of those guns were legal and bought in NY – are there really that many of those?

  5. Chas Says:

New York has the worst gun laws in the country.
The right to keep and bear arms has been reduced to a privilege, and thugs that they are, they don’t mind telling you so.
Bear in mind that in New York State, a permit is required merely to possess a handgun. Touch one finger to a handgun without a license and you just committed a felony.
It’s no wonder that the state is losing population, revenue, jobs and businesses. The politicians are too arrogant to respect the rights that people have as Americans, and people are voting on that with their feet.

“Your Pistol Permit is legally a privilege. Treat it as such. The issuing judge has the right to revoke or restrict your permit at any time, even after it has been issued to you.”

“YOUR PISTOL PERMIT, IF ISSUED TO YOU, IS A PRIVILEGE. TREAT IT AS SUCH. THE JUDGE APPROVING TO ISSUE YOUR PERMIT, ALSO HAS THE RIGHT TO REVOKE YOUR PERMIT.”

None of that abuse of the law-abiding stops the gangbangers from running around the streets shooting each other, but it’s not really about stopping the gangbangers, is it?

“New York has the best gun laws in the country,”

Explains the lack of gun crime there!

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
