From gunwalker to grenadewalker

Ruh roh:

The WSJ reports today that federal authorities are now investigating why the U.S. Attorney’s office in Phoenix — the same office that oversaw Fast and Furious — released Jean Baptiste Kingery after he confessed to providing military-style weapons to the now-defunct La Familia Michoacana drug cartel.

Kingery, who was arrested and released in June 2010, confessed to manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) using grenade components from the U.S. He also admitted to helping the cartel convert semi-automatic rifles into machine guns. Mexican criminal organizations are increasingly using these military-style weapons as the cartels’ escalate their wars against the government and one another.

Unpossible! The press and the anti-gunners (but I repeat myself) told me they got those machine guns and grenades at American gun shows!

I heard the Mujahideen got Stinger SAM’s from American gun shows back in the 80’s.

    Its true!

Does the ATF plan to have a Mardi Gras float? If so, what will they be throwing out? Semi-automatics for the kids?

Also, if any ATF agents are reading this, I would really like to have a Glock G18. But I am not picky. Anything you have left in your giveaway locker would be nice.

Seriously, WTH? It sounds like they had no checks in the system at all. Was there ever a moment when they thought “you know guys, we better draw the line at artillery. No indirect fire weapons. Wadda ya think?”

JDAMs? Tactical nukes? Ooh I want an SR71!

So does everybody have grenades but me?

    Dear ATF,

I too am a foreigner. I would like a nice AR-15-style weapon. Nothing too fancy, heck, as long as it has a top-rail and backup irons, I can foot the rest for accessories.

    Woo Hoo! Grenadegate, baby!

This whole Gunwalker thing really IS turning into the biggest Charlie Foxtrot ever, ain’t it?

I’ll tell you this: If ATF survives this scandal intact, then THAT is the so-called “line in the sand”. If after something this monstrous, nobody goes to jail, then it is proof-positive that the current system is so irredeemably corrupt that it can no longer be considered legitimate or salvageable.

My bet? ATF will be expanded and given additional powers and funding. The major players who oversaw all of this will be shuffled around and hidden within the mammoth DC bureaucracy, “kicked upstairs”, or quietly retired with a full pension. No one will lose a dime from their pay or their retirement, and no one will ever go to jail (or even be charged with anything).

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
