I have to admit every time I think about my S&W being made in Massachusetts, I cringe

Gun-friendly states looking to lure gun makers from hostile states.

I’ve never understood the counter-argument that “well, in the Northeast and Midwest is where you find all the educated, skilled labor.”

Ummm, so the workers cannot move as well?

  2. Countertop Says:

    That’s code for “unionized workforce”

Markie Marxist sez: “My commie compadres in Marxachusetts at Smith & Wesson have been very cooperative by putting those internal lock thingies on the guns they make. Not only do those lock thingies have a reputation for inadvertently activating and locking up the action when the gun is fired, but they’re just waiting there for the laws that will make the use of them mandatory except for when the gun is about to be fired. We can buy some time for our Marxist/warrior/hero/criminals by requiring CCW holders to keep the lock activated until they draw the gun. You don’t want people walking around with unsafe guns, do you? My Marxist amigos in Marxachusetts are so thoughtful like that, aren’t they? Of course, none of my Smith & Wessons have any of those crappy, internal lock thingies on them. Those are just for the NRA rubes we’ve hoodwinked into thinking that they’re a feature not a bug. Ha! Ha! All your internal lock thingie are belong to us! Compliments of Marxachusetts! Ha! Ha! Oh, and if you should happen to stop by there, please give my regards to my commie compadre, Comrade Senator Kerry, he’s such a good commie! And be sure to tell him how much we miss our dear departed Comrade Senator Kennedy – now there was a real commie for ya!”

Tennessee should use Ronnie Barrett as a spokesperson for gun and ammo manufacturers locating in Tennessee.

I followed Les Baer’s move to Iowa a couple of years ago.

There were some local (and vocal) Iowa yahoos who protested the city or county’s grant of zoning to the proposed location, what with all the guns discharging in every direction all the time.

But the governing authority decided it wanted Les’s contribution to the locale and granted the authority.

Thus far, it hasn’t resulted in too much violent crime at its new location.

To move out of the union states would require paying off the unions to ‘allow’ them to leave.

Or maybe they would ‘Boing’ them, that is the NSLB prohibit them from leaving the state on some excuse it would limit the unions.

That is how corrupt the unions and the government have become.

  6. Speakertweaker Says:

According to the linked article, among the offerings to entice the gunmakers to move is (and I quote) “the unfettered right to bear arms.”

I would very much like to know what state can actually offer that, because I would walk out of my office right the hell now and pack my bags.

States should compete for new business, not spend their time trying to lure businesses to abandon other states. We’re all Americans here. Let’s focus on growth, not squabbling.

  8. Bubblehead Les Says:

If the Gun Business is in a Gun Intolerant State whole Politicians are doing everything they can to destroy the RKBA, then those Businesses who are in that State are Aiding and Abetting those Politicians through the continued use of Union Labor and the dues that are sent to those same Politicians. There is PLENTY of Skilled Labor available in the Free States, at a cheaper cost.

I live in a free state, where gun ownership isn’t mocked by politicians or endangered by Unions, and I worked for a gun company here, we were actively recruited by other states, mainly Oklahoma and Wyoming to open our next factory there. They’re trying to pull gun companies from pro-gun states, too. Firearms are one of the only American “smoke stack” industries that cannot move overseas because of all the oppressive import/export laws that the State Department imposes on firearms.

I used to say that the gun companies should all band together and boycott sales to CA Law Enforcement, so that CA would be forced to buy inferior products or open their own state armory. I doubt it would ever work, but it’s a fun fantasy. Nobody in their right mind would start a gun company in CA these days. All the ones that are there were there in the 50’s.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
