Below the last pic it says “America please welcome the next President of the United States.”

Is he gonna be the last president from TX? You know, one that, like our current one, allows the “invasion” of our (“Treason” according to Article III, Section 3 and Article IV, Section 4), imposes the appeasement and accommodation of the invaders on us and supports another so-called “Assault Weapons Ban” (which doesn’t apply to the government guns, of course) and the continuation and expansion of the police-state apparatus…just to name a few NO CHANGE things.

  2. mikee Says:

Larue’s logo carries the tag line, “Made dead center of Texas, USA” so the governor is not only promoting his 2nd Amendment support, he’s showcasing a Texas company. As we Aggies say, “Gig ’em!”

  3. that guy from KR Says:

Unfortunately, Rick Perry has brought Chicago-style crony politics to Texas, using every marginally-legal political trick in the book to stack state offices, the boards of Regents of UT and A&M, and every other area in which he has power with unqualified political appointees who do his bidding. He supported a massive eminent domain-seizure plan (Trans Texas Corridor). He has yet to sign ANY of the pro-gun bills that passed the state Lege, and he pulled his support for campus carry, siding with his cronies on the TAMU Board of Regents (behind the scenes) working to kill that bill.

His heavy handed, back-door-dealing, no-respect-for-rule-of-law approach to governance is similar to Obama’s – NOT what the country needs.

  4. Kim du Toit Says:

    1. Texa needs the TTC. Anyone who’s driven I-35 or I-45 can probably tell you at least a few stories of near-escapes because the damn north-south interstates are clogged with trucks. The problem with the eminent-domain cases is that people have been flat-out unwilling to sell their land at anything but wildly-inflated prices.
    2. The “crony politics” charges have been refuted over and over again, and not just in the courts. Not ONE corruption charge has been judged worthy of indictment, let alone prosecution — and most have been frivolous charges. Just note where they’ve been filed: Travis County (i.e. Austin), where they’re guaranteed a favorable hearing by the local liberal judges. Not ONE complaint has been filed in Dallas, San Antonio, Houston or Fort Worth. Don’t even begin to compare Perry with Obama’s Chicago-style machine politics; by comparison, Perry’s a neophyte.
    3. The Texas constitution does not require the governor’s signature for a bill to become law; once a bill has passed in both the House and Senate, it’s over, and becomes law on the following Sept 1. Perry’s a shooter: he carries a gun, and is often seen shooting at Red’s Range. He’s ALWAYS supported pro-gun legislation.
    4. Perry is relentlessly pro-business. Note that nearly a third of all new jobs created recently in the U.S. have been in Texas. Take away N. Dakota (new oilfields) and it would have been ALL new jobs. It’s no coincidence that Texas has low corporate taxes and no income tax, and that Perry has won all his elections by a massive majority.
    5. Perry is massively suspicious of federal encroachment on state affairs, and to have a POTUS with such sentiments would probably mean far fewer unfunded federal mandates on the states.

Frankly, I’d personally prefer to see Perry stay in Texas than get “stolen by the Yankees”, as they say down here. But he would be far and away a better POTUS candidate for the Republicans than RINOs like Romney or Pawlenty. Governing a state like Texas is a whole ‘nother thing to governing Blue states like Massachusetts or Minnesota.

  5. Ron W Says:

    Kim du Toit,

Would the TTC be built by Texas and/or U.S. funds or by foreign corporations?

Would Rick Perry do his Constitutional duty “that the United States SHALL protect the States against invasion…” end the TREASON of Obama and the last TX Gov as Prez?

The Feds have NO “delegated powers” to infringe on the RIGHT of the people to keep AND CARRY arms except over “such part of the militia that is called into service and employed by it” (Article I, Section 8.16) Does Gov Perry agree with that or will the hired continue to rule over us?

  6. Ron W Says:

Excuse me, I left out a word:

Does Gov Perry agree with that or will the hired GUNS continue to rule over us?

  7. Kim du Toit Says:

    1. “Would the TTC be built by Texas and/or U.S. funds or by foreign corporations?”
    — private funds, a joint venture between a Texas company (Zachry) and a Mexican company (Cintra). The first 20% would be their own capital, the rest raised through issuance of bonds. In return, the companies would get the revenue from the tolls. I fail to see why this would be remarkable, or objectionable. American companies do things like this all over the world, every single day. Anyway, it’s a moot point because the TTC project is dead.

    2. “Invasion by foreigners” [paraphrase]
    — More tinfoil needed in that hat. Given that Perry’s been asking for more U.S. troops to guard the southern border against illegal aliens… nothing to see here, move along.

    3. “The Feds have NO “delegated powers” to infringe on the RIGHT of the people to keep AND CARRY arms…”
    — Perry’s one of the staunchest RKBA supporters of all the politicians out there. You have a problem with Texas’s stupid (OC) carry laws, take it up with your state reps and senators. Given Perry’s hostility towards Teh Fed in general…

Good grief. I was expecting a serious rebuttal of my support for Perry. Instead I got incoherent blather from the loony-Luddite-tinfoil-hat set. We like him just fine down here anyway (60%+ electoral support), so if he doesn’t go to D.C., good for us, too bad for the rest of you.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
