Cracks

Schools rethinking zero tolerance. There really isn’t much to think about. It’s stupid.

They’ve been acting out their self-serving, politically motivated, paranoid hoplophobia against the very children for whom they are supposed to care. That derives from their leftist animosity towards everything they associate with the political right, including, and especially, private gun ownership. Fortunately, that has finally come to be seen for the ridiculous and selfish overindulgence and abuse of power that it is. These little, commie wannabe politburos that run our schools and hate our freedom need to be reined in, and the best way to do that is to first forcefully communicate one’s displeasure with these petty, leftist tyrants and then cut then their budgets.
If they want to send little Johnny to the gulag for six months for drawing a picture of a gun on a piece of paper, because they’re frustrated that they can’t do the same thing to his Dad for owning a real gun, then maybe they should be sent to the gulag for six months themselves. Or longer. Or forever. We don’t need these people in this country. They don’t contribute to the diversity; they degrade our quality of life with their Marxist misery. They must change or go.

Nice to see it only took what 10 or 20 years for the teaching establishments to learn something.

Glad we depend on these people to teach for the future.

I was reading the local fishwrap last week and saw my one buddy’s name listed for truancy violations. Some quick math on my part…6 days truancy = 3 sons X 2 days off each for the NRA Meeting trip we took. A snarky text message left him baffled because it seems the school managed to notify the local paper before managing to contact him.

Apparently, notifying all of your teachers of your impending absence, getting your assignments from them so you can work on them during the trip, and being honor roll students in the first place isn’t good enough. You need to fill out a “Family Vacation Leave” form and the school must approve the trip. What a joke. As if the sort of people who take family vacations are the source of truancy problems!

  4. SPQR Says:

We have these problems because we’ve allowed the least competent people in society, “Education majors”, to have control of the education of our children.

As a society, this is the single mistake most likely to lead to our downfall.

  5. Todd S Says:

Whoa now. Some of us “Education Majors” also have degrees in other stuff. Like chemistry in my case. Not all of us are brainless (although, to be fair, a large number are.) That said, I can’t stand zero tolerance policies. I had a student, let’s call him Joe, take a total beatdown outside of my class, not even hitting back. I stopped the fight and marched them down to the office, along with several witnesses. All of them said Joe didn’t fight back and the attack was unwarranted. Joe got suspended 3 days for fighting because of zero tolerance. He asked me what he should do next time and I said, “Beat the shit outta the other guy. You’re gonna get suspended anyway.”

In 4th grade several decades ago, after my classmate MG and I had it out after school one day, I distinctly recall Sister Mary John, Principal of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic School, telling my mother, “We’ve been expecting this. Now that they’ve got it out of their systems, maybe they can get back to their studies.” Nothing more was ever said about our fight.

Nuns were an elegant weapon, for a more civilized age.

    mikee,

Wow. I was expecting a tale of rulers or yardsticks.

  8. MichigammeDave Says:

I’ve always thought zero tolerance was instituted by people who were afraid to take responsibility for a decision. Rather than arbitrate, or evaluate, it’s easier to say “I have no choice. The rule says… .”
It’s a gutless position, and you won’t find it where real men and women are in charge.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
