Kinda like if a MMA fighter took on Todd Jarrett

Martial arts master offers $5K to MMA fighter that can beat him. Well, hope he didn’t need that $5K. Turns out, knowing how to fight beats chi.

A similar situation happened some years ago where a kung fu guy had an open challenge and got his ass kicked by a MMA guy.

When the kung fu guy was lying on his back, you could see him think about trying to do an eye gouge or something, but he knew that wouldn’t go well for him. What’s more sad is that kung fu guy at least had the balls to test himself, but all the other kung fu guys who were hyping him up immediately deserted him and said he didn’t know any REAL kung fu anyways.

Ki attacks only work on people who believe in ki attacks.

    Hypnosis is tricky stuff.

And just down the hall, in Room 209, we’re teaching “Democrat Economics 201: Waving your hand and making pretend things happen.”

    Is that a joke?

I had a friend growing up who is taking judo I told me to beat me up …. I only knew what I had seen on tv and I want his ass ..currently I take krav maga and if I had to fight my friend all over again I would completely destroy him… seems like most martial arts are done just for show and for fitness…

  7. Jon Says:

    I meant to say whipped…
    Damn auto type..

You can’t hit the magic guy; it ruins the act!

The key is the term, martial “arts”. “Arts” makes pretty things. Martial science will always win. Learn what really works. I’m not even gonna wade into that pool right now.

“Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.”

  10. Mr Evilwrench Says:

    Yeah, that.

I wonder. Is he bullet proof???

  12. SPQR Says:

There are some martial arts that are worth more in a back alley than others. I have respect for some of the Aikido schools out there for example.

  13. ctr Says:

I’ve found attitude and aggression often work better “in a back alley” than years of training in a dojo.

Look at how surprised old guy is when he gets hit.

  14. Mike M. Says:

Depends on the style…and the rules. MMA has rules – and against a serious student of the martial arts, anyone fighting by rules is dead.

  15. Cargosquid Says:

A few years back, one of the cable shows had two guys going around the world, experiencing different martial arts. Both of them were fighters.

They joined in with the Marines with the Marine Combatives. As the Gunny told them….”In a ring..I’d lose. But out here, I’d kill the son of a ….gun.”

  16. Paul Says:

I’ve been in the martial arts for several decades and I can say this ‘master’ is only a master at fakery.

Yes Hypnosis is tricky stuff. But I really don’t think street thugs or MMA guys are into hypnosis.

I hope some MMA guy goes to collect the five grand but I suspect the ‘master’ will just give him a run around.

From the looks of that video, the mystic is going to need that money for his hospital bills.

I feel bad for that guy. He must have thought he was the real deal, else I can’t see how he would have gone through with this. His life was a lie, and now he knows it, and his students know it.

The truth hurts, though probably not as much being kicked in the head by a MMA fighter.

  18. Jake Says:

The MMA guy looks surprised at how utterly ineffective the ‘master’ was. He approached it like a serious match, and you can see at the end there he seems worried that he might have seriously injured the guy.

I predict this mystic’s school is going to run out of students very quickly.

  19. Gnarlysheen Says:

I actually feel bad for the MMA guy, he looks as surprised as anyone else (and concerned when the “master” appears injured). From what I can tell, he got paid 5,000 bucks to beat up a senile old man.

  20. Ash Says:

Looks like the Yellow Bamboo school of ‘Qi’. Of course, he is no different from someone who talks to Jesus or speaks in tongues. It’s all self delusion.

  21. Britt Says:

Those who talk to Jesus aren’t deluded, it’s the ones who hear him respond who are deluded.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
