  1. Rich P. Says:

The air gun the gentleman in the picture is holding is cool, but what really blew me away was a few photos down is another rebel holding a WWI era Lewis gun. Amazing the tech that can still be found in that corner of the world.

  2. Mike Says:

What the heck IS it? A pepperball gun?

  3. Mad Saint Jack Says:

    FN 303 Less Lethal Launcher.

  4. Bryan S. Says:

Didn’t know the 303 was automatic. then again, the Automag paintball system that it was based off of can be made to do that, just not all that reliably.

  5. Robb Allen Says:

Probably got it at a gun show near the border.

  6. Shootin' Buddy Says:

So, a Belgian pepper gun pinched from Libyan police arms locker is an American submachine gun?

Someone HAS to take these reporters shooting.

  7. BWM Says:

At least they didn’t call it a Glock revolver, i guess.

  8. D2k Says:

    @Rich P.
I suspect that is a DPM, the pan on a Lewis looks different.

  9. BobG Says:

If the reporters are British, it is understandable. They probably don’t know what a real firearm looks like.

  10. Mad Saint Jack Says:

    Speaking of arming the rebels,,,

I saw some video of rebels firing pickup mounted multi-tube rocket launchers. As far as I can tell these where given to the rebels by Egypt. I’m willing to bet that these launchers came from the same place as the rockets being fired in Gaza.

  11. Bubblehead Les Says:

I understand that Obama has tasked the BATFEIEIO with supplying the Rebels, but ever since those Damn House Republicans issued those subpoenas…

  12. Paul Says:

So FN 303 Less Lethal Launcher’s are what Obama is giving them?

Now I understand why they are not winning.

  13. Stan Says:

I’m pretty sure the second guns is indeed a DPM not a Lewis. Similar looks but the pans are quite different. I thought it was a Lewis at first myself.

  14. wfgodbold Says:

    Those stupid reporters!f

    That’s obviously an AK-47!

  15. EMP Says:

Incidentally, the guy on the right looks like he’s about to say “I’m just rebelling ironically.”

Can’t judge too hard. Pretty sure I own that exact hat.

  16. mike w. Says:

It’s evil and black. What else is there to know if you’re a reporter?

  17. Dan Says:

It explains the “are you freaking kidding me?” look on his face…

  18. Veeshir Says:

    Good catch EMP.
    That’s all about teh funny.

  19. Diomed Says:

Oh yeah, that’s definitely a Degtyarev, not a Lewis.

  20. **** Says:

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  21. Fred Says:

303s aren’t automatic, just semi-auto. They are fun though, you can make projectiles out of the Tootsie Rolls in MREs that’ll get some good velocity out of them.

  22. Bill Says:

Cracks me up!! Showed the picture to my wife and she said, isn’t that a paintball gun?

I asked her why, and she said, “CO2 tank on top, hose, and the valve.”

Of course she was a broadcast journalism major back when some journalist had integrity!

  23. Ash Says:

The FN303 is the ‘non lethal’ weapon that killed the bystander in Boston in 2003, leading to FN paying a multi million dollar settlement to her family. Turns out the FN 303 becomes somewhat inaccurate after about 300 uses, and as a result most US police departments have ditched them.

  24. ASM826 Says:

The picture could be the subject of a caption contest.

“Paintball? Okay, but I want to play the field course!”

“Does it come in different colors?”

“We fought Qaadaffi with these? No wonder we needed air support.”

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
