My guess is the riot was originally started to distract the troops from the large shipment of heroin leaving afghanistan. It just boiled over into a full on riot later on. Not the first time this has happened. Ever since that major bust of that opium storage warehouse there have been timely riots that distract the troops.

If WE get nervous around muslims, imagine how the other muslims feel! Just last Sunday, two suicide bombers blew up in a Sufi temple. Sufis aren’t REAL muslims. And the bloodshed between sunni and shiite is legendary.
Just think of it! Those terrible Sufi were singing in church!

I’m not a fan of our global military ventures in Iraq, Afghanistan, and no Libya, but I’m with Tam. The RoP (i.e.: Barbarian Savages(t[A]m)) don’t need a reason. We could be complete isolationists and they’d still find a reason for their murder and mayhem.

Story was completely under the radar until Karzai denounced it, then local clerics embellished on it, claiming “multiple Korans” were burned, etc. Yes, they really are that bat-shit crazy and will kill for something like that.
On the other hand, I agree, no “curbs” on Free speech necessary, Terry Jones has a constitutionally protected right to be a complete ass-hat.

Aside: Difference between Iraq/Afghanistan, the Arab League supported the intervention in Libya, as did the UN security council. Why not intervene in Bahrain? Because Bahrain isn’t massively using heavy weapons on civilians the way Quaddafi was/is.
