Speaking of property

I was just talking about this. Newsalert notes:

Language in Louisville’s proposed emergency response plan, which would give the city the power to “commandeer private property” and “seize” buildings in a crisis, has given several of the city’s elected leaders pause.

Maybe you guys should read it before signing off on it.

It’s worth noting thats Louisville *COLORADO* which is some rinky dink town no one has ever heard of and not Louisville in the great Commonwealth of Kentucky.

  2. Chas Says:

Markie Marxist sez: “But commandeering and seizing private property is what communism is all about! Besides, as my commie compadre, now Mayor of Chicago, Rahmie the Commie says, we should never let a crisis go to waste. It’s just common communist sense to seize private property, any time we can. We Marxists call it ‘good government’.”

I think I saw this sort of law in effect in the 1997 Tommy Lee Jones movie “Volcano” where Rodeo Drive’s best retail establishments were sacrificed to the diverted lava flow.

And I’ve seen any number of cop shows where plain clothes police officers commandeer cars and race after villains.

Maybe the local city’s elected leaders are spending too much time in front of a TV screen and not enough time with their law books.

I bet that would also include guns.

A town in Broward County (FL)did pass a plan like that. Locals wondered who was going to be the brave town employee who is going to go door to door trying to confiscate stuff from folks. South Floridians do take kindly to looters…..

  6. Dave Says:

Heh. We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.

  7. Bubblehead Les Says:

Property Seizure, Gun Control, Illegal Wars, boy that John Boehner and the Republitards really rocked the Commies off their Manifesto when they took over, didn’t they? Kill some laws, defund some programs, deny some appointments, but for Crom’s Sake, DO SOMETHING! Don’t play this stupid “we’ll let them make things worse so we can get more power in the Next Election” RINO Game, or you’ll be so much a Minority Party come Nov. 2012 that you’ll never make the Census!

  8. SPQR Says:

Bubblehead, Louisville Colorado – outside of Boulder Colorado – is not run by the GOP and certainly is not run by the House of Representatives.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
