Police officer shoots self in thigh during weapons inspection. Result of inspection: Yeah, it’s loaded.

Update: She did not shoot herself. Was shot by another officer.

At least the reporting was pretty good. Usually they say something like: “The officer was doing this or that and the gun discharged”. The only way the gun discharges is if you load it and pull the triger, other than maybe dropping it. Jack.

1. Or, if you are loading it.

2. Or, if you are unloading it.

3. Or, if the weapons get bumped.

4. Or, if clothing or dingleberries on strings on jackets set the gun off.

It is NOT necessary to pulled the trigger to make a firearm discharge. (Does not excuse violating Rule #2).
