Still more on the Ung case
More here from Sebastian and the comments here are interesting. Looking more and more like self defense to me. Three athletic men taunt you and push you for a block. Then rush you. The reason this case seems to be a big deal is because of the video. And, maybe, because the father of the attacker is a partner at a law firm.
The officer who approached him initially was not in uniform and was working a plain clothes side gig as club security. Sorry, I’m not handing over a weapon to a bouncer either.

It’s not just the law firm… that family is well connected politically. Very good chance this is politically motivated.

that, and I do not see why a security guard should have any more authority to order me around simply because he is a cop in his other job. and don’t hand me any BS about cops always being on duty. If that were true, they couldn’t drink or work as security guards
