Why are anti-gun activists so violent?

Man spends time plotting first-degree murder unsurprisingly supports gun control.

I call BS. He says he “owned a gun, a silencer, and a plan.”

Anyone who is that ignorant on guns, I seriously doubt he has any legally owned NFA items. Perhaps this male needs a visit from the folks at BATFE.

I too call BS on at least parts of his story. He got a gunsmith to risk his professional license to obscure the lands and groves on his pistol even before he committed the crime? He got himself an illegal unregistered silencer? And when it all went awry because his mom read his diary, he decided to spill the beans on the multiple felonies he committed?

If he was really, truly and honestly raped as a kid, of course, he has my deepest sympathy.

This story was reported in the local press when another guy began stalking the molester who raped Holthouse.

Not a legal silencer, and not a real gunsmith . . . a local criminal he knew, who supposedly did this work for the local gangs, and who he supposedly knew from his work as a local reporter. I could easily believe he exaggerated or even made some of that up completely to make a better story; I imagine that he figured no one would try to prosecute him (and no one has, have they?) and that if anyone did try to bring charges, he would simply claim (maybe truthfully?) to have made up the parts about the defaced firearm and the illegal suppressor. Scratching up the barrel is perfectly legal as far as I know, mostly because it’s completely pointless in terms of getting away with crimes, unless you have the bad luck to live in a city like Miami or New York during an episode of “CSI.”

I remember the story airing on “This American Life” (yeah, I listen to NPR, sue me)

More interesting to me is comparing the story linked at NC Guns, which appeared in the Anchorage Press and is full of respectful fig leaves to Alaskan gun ownership, .454 Casull revolvers and pump shotguns for bear defense, etc., to the original version, which was published by Media Matters (sort of a leftist version of Big Media or the Media Research Center–I remember them mostly as a left-wing group looking for right-wing media bias, but they’ve expanded.)

The Media Matters version ( http://mediamatters.org/blog/201101250012 ) makes no attempt to seem to be written by someone who knows anything about guns or sees any reason for anyone to own one. Where the Anchorage Press story makes a big deal about pump-action shotguns and how ideal they are for Alaskans and how evil the AK-39 pistol from Century Arms is because it’s not a pump shotgun and 7.62×39 won’t stop a bear, the original contains none of that, because the original was centered on how evil Kel-Tec was for marketing a compact pump shotgun that holds 15 rounds (the KSG.)

Obviously, you have to know your audience and write in a way that brings them in, but that borders on dishonesty.

wow. I’m starting to wonder if he should be walking around free at all. If he thinks his behavior is normal, I can see why he supports gun control. I can’t think of a world more terrifying that a society filled with people like him with guns. I don’t think he can think of anything more terrifying either.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
