Gun laws were tougher in old Tombstone

We knew that already. Yet we still hear claims about turning some place into the wild west whenever we liberalize gun laws.

“Arizona’s gun laws are among the most lenient in the nation.”

No, they are not. Why do they continually push this lie?

“Under legislation passed last year, guns are permitted almost everywhere in the state except doctors’ offices and some businesses.”

Ummm, big deal, many states, including my own, Indiana, have no prohibition against carrying in doctors’ offices. Unlike Arizona you can carrying into a bar in Indiana, drink a beer and then later get my teeth cleaned. Nothing will happen because there is no law against it.

    Yet somehow Arizona is lenient?

Funny how different states have different ideas on where its law abiding population should be disarmed ‘for their own safety.’

In Oklahoma doctors offices, churches, and any other private business is Ok unless posted. You can’t carry in bars or liquor stores at all though. Unlike AZ I can have my loaded gun at school, but have to stay in my car. Weirdly enough I’m good for carrying at Chuck E Cheese with 50 third graders, but suddenly a threat to humanity at school. All .gov buildings are off limits.

What I’m getting at is that there isn’t a single restriction that you can’t find another state that doesn’t have that particular one. States that don’t have it don’t have the ‘blood in the streets’ we always hear about. Logic would dictate that they are all nonsense. But these things aren’t logical I guess. That is why our local politicians go into a tizzy when we try to relax the restrictions. Its not about the safety, its about the restricting.

I think the bigger point is that gun control is NOT a new and “progressive” idea…. Its be not working for ages!

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
