Awesome:

Not sure what’s up with the music though.

an SBR no less unless I miss my guess.

Bring Me to Life by Evanescence. Not sure why they picked that one.

  3. Lyle Says:

Pretty good, but she needs more practice.

  4. Stuart the Viking Says:

Hmm… I don’t think I could get my 3yo interested in doing this. Maybe my 6yo. Only problem is I don’t currently have an AR. Been Planning on fixing that as soon as the money becomes available, although that has been the plan for quite a while and I don’t see it coming to fruition any time soon.

Punch or not, the pins must be really loose.

  6. Shawn Says:

Probably used the music to cover up all the instructions they were giving her.

  7. Dave Says:

Yeah, I’m with Shawn. They coached her quite a bit there. It was probably one of the “free” music overlays Youtube lets you do.

She didn’t clear the weapon either – sloppy!

And she didn’t take the bolt nor the firing ping out of the bolt carrier group.

So A for effort, C for safety, D for completeness…

    🙂

Anybody else think that’s a giant 3yr old?

  9. Smince Says:

Anybody else think it’s wrong to have a 3yr old tooling with an assault rifle? I don’t find it appropriate to have a child handling firearms until they can comprehend and remember the safety fundamentals. My son was well into grade school before he could even remember to brush his teeth every night. Hope daddy keeps that instrument properly secured from jr at all times, but given the way he likes to showboat, I’m not so sure.

She didn’t remove the magazine and clear the chamber! This is not okay.

    >Anybody else think it’s wrong to have a 3yr old tooling with an assault rifle?

Anyone think it’s wrong to teach kids that a firearm is a forbidden object that should never be touched? And then keep one around the house?

Or is it a better idea to teach them that this cosmetically-challenged self-loading rifle is not a forbidden object, and can be handled at any time with parental supervision?

  12. John Farrier Says:

I agree with Smince. A typical three-year old lacks the mental development necessary to understand the principles of gun safety or the consequences of violating them.

  13. Randy Says:

I don’t object to her handling the weapon per se, but I’ve got a big problem with her handling a LOADED weapon.

  14. Smince Says:

@Randy – and until she is old enough to properly know how to clear the weapon and verify that it is unloaded, it’s probably best not to let her handle it, even under supervision. In our case, my son had the fundamentals memorized and practiced (using a pellet gun) before he was ever given possession of a firearm under my supervision. He also had a firm grasp on the permanence of death by then.

“She didn’t remove the magazine and clear the chamber! This is not okay.” Agreed. And this video will end up being played as a back drop at a HCI or VPC convention somewhere or worse, on the floor of the House of Reps as McCarthy gives her BS legislation another go. Not a wise move on the part of Daddy. “NOT HELPING”.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
